Hi-vis clothing with certification

The classification is based on hi-vis clothing

Safety Requirements for hi-vis Clothing

When working outdoors in busy environments, it is an absolute must to wear approved hi-vis clothing. Rules and guidelines for hi-vis clothing, classes, and certifications vary between different industries, but it is always the employer's responsibility to provide staff with appropriate protective garments.

At Arbetsskydd Express, you will find a wide range of high-quality hi-vis clothing – in large and small sizes – for all professions, seasons, and weather conditions. All garments in our range are of course approved according to applicable safety standards.

How hi-vis clothing is classified and certified

The classification of hi-vis clothing is based on visibility, that is to say, how much of the garment consists of fluorescent material versus reflectors.

The certification that applies to hi-vis clothing is called EN 20471 and is divided into three classes.

Hi-vis clothing class 3

Must have a total fluorescent area of at least 0.8 m² and reflectors of 0.2 m².

Hi-vis clothing class 2

Must have a fluorescent area of at least 0.5 m² and reflectors of 0.13 m².

Hi-vis clothing class 1

Must have a fluorescent area of at least 0.14 m² and reflectors of 0.1 m².
